Wait aren’t we forgetting something?  Yes, The Cake, “Plum cake”. I don’t think Christmas is ever complete without plum cakes. Most of the time we end up taking just a bite of the plum cake, because not all places have delicious plum cakes.

Dont worry now, we’ve done the research for you. Check out these places which have really amazing plum cakes. These two places are really the hidden gems.

These are the two places that serve the tastiest Plum cakes in Delhi:

1.Meggish Patisserie

Meggish Patisserie

This cute little place is located in Lajpat Nagar-4 also known as “Amar Colony”. This place isn’t hard to find, it’s beside the green chick chop, and opposite Hunger Strike. As you enter the place, you get lost in the world of delicacies. This place has a lot to offer, chocolates, candies, cakes and dry cakes too.

Talking about the dry cakes, i swear these are the best I’ve ever tried.

Best plum cakes ever

Plum cake at Meggish

The plum cake here costs ₹150 for 250 gm which i guess is pretty reasonable for a cake that tastes so good. It has the taste of traditional plum cake with a little nutty swist. This will make your Christmas even better.

Just a bite, and you’re in heaven.

Yes, i definitely recommend this place to you. So give this place a try, i promise you won’t regret it.

2. Elma’s

Okay, before i begin, you should know this place is a gem. The only reason I’m listing it below Meggish is just because Meggish is way cheaper than Elma’s.

Elma’s bakery can be found on different locations, but the one I’m talking about here is at Good Earth, select citywalk.

They have a lot to cater, there’s a different world inside this hidden place. Almost everything looks so pretty and attractive, you would want to try everything on their menu.

Talking about plum cakes, Elma’s has engraved their name in my heart. To be honest the cakes are really out of this world. The textures and flavors are to die for. If you treat your friends with this Plum cake they’ll be more than happy i promise. The plum cake costs ₹320, might be a little pricey but is worth every penny.

An evening at this place, especially Christmas eve, would be just magical.

Pocket Friendly: 3/5

You should definitely give this place a try, the ambience and the taste will give you chills.
I have tried Plum cakes at many places but these two are the best, they exactly know how to please your taste buds.

So this Christmas dig deeper in these magical plum cakes. I hope this Christmas turns out to be the best for you.

Merry Christmas!

“Tin Town” is the new favorite in town

“Tin Town” is the new favorite in town

Hey there!

I am here again with a new place and new memories. Satyaniketan has always been my favorite, not only because the restaurants here are pocket friendly, but also because there’s a huge number of restaurants to decide from.

This time we were just fooling around and this pretty restaurant came into our notice. “Tin Town” the interiors had something to do with ‘tin’ i guess.

As i walked in, i was completely shocked with how pretty and creative the interior was. The place isn’t really huge but big enough to hold 20 people.Dont worry it is more spacious than  Hera Pheri and QRO.

The seats are really comfortable and you can comfortably sit and have a chat with your friends or partner. They have a separate setup for hookah which really impressed me ’cause hookah smoke is really a no-no for me.

The place has tiny lamps and a pretty setup which makes it really beautiful at night.

How’s the food?

I was quite skeptical with the food because the staff didn’t seem to be quite professional with the work, doesn’t change the fact that they were extremely polite and courteous.

They handed over the menu, which took me a while to read, because they have everything in the menu!

Chinese, indian, and continental as well. This is the place to be in whenever you’re craving nachos, kebabs, burger, and noodles at the same time. This place is a blessing!

First of all i order a plate of baked chicken nachos. Oh-my-gosh! To be honest it was the best nachos I’ve ever had in my life, they made the nachos extra cheesy on my request. Perfectly cooked chicken, crispy nachos. Perfect amount of jalapenos, served with the best dip!

Next we ordered a coffee frappe and a KitKat shake. The coffee frappe was delicious, perfect coffee with a hint of chocolate. Just the way it should be made.

Kitkat, kit kat, KitKat shake

KitKat Shake

On the other hand KitKat shake wasn’t that good, the consistency wasn’t thik, and the KitKat was floating inside. It wasn’t too bad, neither was it too good.

Then i thought of trying something Desi, So i ordered chicken tikka. The platter looked so pretty and seemed like the tikkas were dying to jump into my mouth. Tikkas were definitely as good as they appeared, perfect blend of flavours and masala, cooked to perfection. Tikkas were literally melting in my mouth. It was served with an equally delicious coriander chutney! Just perfect.

Pasta and pizza are two things which almost everone loves. They had baked pasta in their menu so we tried that too, and pizza veggie delight from all the pizzas they had.

The amount of pasta they served was way too much! I mean really, the quantity was really good. We don’t usually get such quantity in other restaurants. It was sizzling hot, straight out from the oven. It was very gooey and cheesy. Served with 2 garlic breads. The pasta tasted good, but I’d prefer normal pasta over baked pasta anyday.

Usually i don’t eat veg pizza but this one tasted just too good. Thin crust, topped with tangy sause, and appropriate amount of cheese and veggies. The pizza tasted really good.

I was almost full, but didn’t want to leave thr place without trying a dessert. The staff recommended me to try Ebony and Ivory. So i did. Trust me people it tasted so good! It was a perfect dessert. It wasn’t too sweet, just perfect. It was toped with chocolate cyrup which completed the dessert.

It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in Satyaniketan. You can plan a get-together with your friends, or a romantic date with your partner. The place is just perfect to soothe your tastebuds. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Will i visit this place again? Definitely yes. I’m going try more of their food.
Hope you liked the post!

Frozen ‘Fantasy or nightmare’?

Frozen ‘Fantasy or nightmare’?

Satyaniketan has always been a hub of delicious pasta, pizzas and burgers, but now they have a lot to serve to the sweet tooth too.

Yes! This article is for all the sweet-tooth out there. Frozen Fantasy is the newly opened cakeshop-c-icecream parlor.

The place is tiny and cute, all the sweeties are displayed in front of you. Yes! You’ll have tough time deciding whether to have an ice-cream or eat that delicious looking cupcake.

As the place is a take-away one, so there’s nothing much to say how it looks. Over-all the place is tiny, painted in pastel shades. Pastries and cupcakes are displayed on the right and icecream on the left.

inside the outlet

The place can hold 4-5 people at once, not more than that. No seating! If you planned to sit there and have a conversation over a dessert, then NO!There’s no seating.
How’s the food?

As i entered the place, i was mesmerized as everything looked so pretty and delicious! Though i’m not a sweet-tooth, I’m more of a Savory person, but the looks were good enough to tempt me.

tasty cupcakes

Tempting cupcakes

One more thing, the cupcakes here are extremely cheap, cheapest I’ve ever had.

So i tried the dark chocolate cupcake,  red velvet cupcake, and a red velvet pastry. They looked extremely fancy. The cupcakes were folded in extremely adorable paper cups.

Red velvet cupcake

Red velvet cupcake looked the prettiest as you can already see, but I was extremely disappointed with it’s taste. It wasn’t even edible. I cannot explain how horrifying it was. I just tasted and I felt like puking. I think they should pay me back, because now I’m afraid of trying out the new bakeries.

“Everything that glitters isn’t gold” Lesson learned.

chocolate chocolate chip

After trying the red velvet I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try this one too, but i spent money on it, so I had to.

The chocolate chips topped aren’t as tasty as they appear to be, but it was “faaaarr” better than the red velvet cupcake. Anyway i didn’t like it, it was just better than the earlier one. I wouldn’t even offer this to my worst enemy.

Red velvet pastry

Lastly, the red velvet pastry. Don’t try this or you’ll start hating red velvet forever, and I’m sure you don’t want to hate your favorite dessert forever. It tasted worse than your “nukkad wala bakery”. Yes, it did! Trust me.

Such a fancy name, a fancy outlet, and this is what you’re being served.

I don’t know, why did they even start this at the first place. The staff had no idea about anything. They didn’t care if we liked the food or not.

So it was not at all a great experience. I really don’t want any one of you to go through this.

I ordered these after the staff recommended me to try these. Can you imagine?

This is how you ruin your afternoon.

Will i ever visit this place again? Hell no!
